Rap/Hip-Hop magazine analysis 2- Double page spread

The double page spread of The Source shows a image of the rapper The Game wearing a white tank top in a dark background to possibly represent the artist as being alone and his life is dark and scary. The facial expressions of the artist are intimidating  and his knuckles are almost clenched together which shows his is violent.
As you can see the background of the double page is black which makes it easier  for the audience to read the text on the left hand side of the page. The contrast between the black background and the white and yellow text makes it easier for the audience to read, also it helps it to make it stand out. The alignment of the text is on the left hand side of the double page spread to make it balanced and easier to read for the audinece  .The quote on the left hand side is linked with the image of the rapper beause the quote was said by himself. Also, tattoo on his body promotes youth culture. On the last 5 lines the colour of the text changed from white to yellow to show importance to it by making it stand out to the audience. Personal pronoun is being used on the left hand side of the page 'I WOULD NOT ADVISE ANYONE...'; this is used to make the audience feel more involved and personal. The genre rap/hip-hop links to the double page spread because the genre 'hip-hop' has been mentioned on the page once and the image on the right hand side of the page is a rapper called The Game.
